π± Everyday care
1. Short Guidance
When your mind feels overloaded, start with one small, manageable step.
When I feel overwhelmed, what can I do?
Pause and breathe gently; make your exhale a little slower, without forcing your breath.
Name what you are feeling: βI feel worried / angry / sad right now.β
Choose one small next step instead of solving everything at once.
Talk to someone you trust if you need support.
How can I ask someone for help?
Try saying: βI am having a difficult time. Can you listen to me for a few minutes? I do not need you to solve everything right now.β
When should I contact a professional?
Consider professional support if distress persists, returns often, affects sleep/work/relationships, or feels difficult to manage. You do not need to wait until things become severe.
π Daily habits
2. Good Mental Health
Small habits practiced regularly can support mental wellbeing; they are not a guarantee against illness.
Keep a consistent sleep and wake time as far as possible.
Eat regular balanced meals and drink water.
Include movement you can comfortably manage, such as a walk.
Take short breaks from screens, study or work.
Stay connected with supportive people and make time for enjoyable activities.
Try a brief breathing, grounding or mindfulness exercise.
Set realistic goals and treat yourself with kindness when a day is difficult.
You do not need to do everything at once. Choose one small habit to start with.
π§ Understand & seek support
3. Stress, Anxiety, Depression & Other Concerns
Stress
Identify what is within your control, break tasks into smaller steps, take breaks and speak with someone supportive. If stress is persistent or disrupts daily life, seek professional guidance.
Anxiety or panic-like feelings
Move to a safe, quieter place if possible. Notice your feet on the floor and name a few things you can see and hear. Breathe gently; do not force deep breaths. New, severe or unusual physical symptoms need medical assessment, because they may have causes other than anxiety.
Possible depression
Persistent low mood, loss of interest, hopelessness, changes in sleep or appetite, low energy or difficulty functioning can be signs that support may help. These symptoms do not confirm a diagnosis by themselves; speak with a qualified mental health professional or doctor.
Anger, loneliness, grief or relationship problems
Give yourself time to pause, describe the problem without blaming yourself, and consider a trusted person or counsellor. If you feel unsafe with someone, prioritize safety and seek appropriate help.
Medication and diagnosis

π€ Support someone
4. Helping a Friend or Family Member
Listen calmly, without judging or dismissing their feelings.
Ask what would help right now and offer practical support.
Encourage professional help if the difficulty continues or becomes severe.
If they mention suicide or self-harm, take it seriously, ask directly if they are in immediate danger, and help connect them with urgent support.
Do not promise secrecy when someone's immediate safety is at risk.
